Kate Hudson serves as the Associate Vice President and Counsel for Policy and FederalRelations, her portfolio includes intellectual property, technology transfer, open andpublic access, data privacy, and copyright issues. in addition, she supports AAU's policyand federal relations work in areas that require legal expertise, such as tax issues relatedto research, labor and employment, research security policy, higher education Title lXissues, and other regulatory matters important to America's leading researchuniversities. Kate also leads AAU's General Counsels (GC) constituent group andIntellectual Property & Tech Transfer Task Force. She is a former federal agency attorney.serving at the Government Accountability Office, the U.S. Office of PersonnelManagement, and the U.S. General Services Administration as senior counsel.
