Science Policy and Communications Analyst, National Science Foundation

Denise Zannino, Ph.D. is a Science Policy and Communications Analyst at the NationalScience Foundation in the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs. In this capacity she isresponsible for internal communications and strategic visioning, project managementfor special events such as press conferences and symposiums, and general scienceoutreach and communications projects. Prior to this role Denise was a AAAS Science &Technology Policy Fellow in the same office.

Denise earned her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Vanderbilt University, and a BS in biologyand psychology from James Madison University. She is passionate about utilizing herscientific background and experience in biomedical research to communicate science toa varied range of audiences including the public, media, and other scientists, and topromote scientific programs, outreach, and awareness.
